Hello all,

My first post here. Before someone scolds me for not doing research, I just want to put out there first that I did. I found some people with the same question I have, but instead of getting answers all I saw are others scolding the original posters for not doing their research. Sorry for starting with this, but I'm very frustrated that I could find the answers to my questions without asking, and I'm hoping to save myself from such unwarranted scoldings. Thanks. :)

Now with my frustrations vented (thanks for listening)...

I currently have a Falcon that's Jtagged. With it I have a 2TB hard drive in an enclosure that I have plugged into the external hard drive port via a sata cable and a cannibalized Xbox external hard drive enclosure and an esata cable I rigged up. Not pretty, but it works well and has for quite some time now.

My Falcon is dying. I can't play any games for more than 20 minutes without the box rebooting itself. The machine has quite a few hours. My research suggests that I need it reballed, if that will do anything at all. So, I'm thinking it is time to let go of the Falcon and get myself a slim. I'd love something less spacious and much quieter, anyway. I'd also love to go with a dual-nand setup.

My question is if it is possible to bring my 2TB hard drive with me to a slim that's RGH'd and with a dual nand. Will the 2TB present any problems if I try to log on to XBL? Can I even use that under the Live nand? Is it even possible to physically connect my 2TB hard drive to a slim in a similar fashion that I have it connected to my Falcon?

Also, should I stay away from the 360e?

Thanks so much in advance for any helpful answers.

If your hard drive is 2.5", you can say goodbye to your homemade connection set up and pop the hard drive right into the hard drive slot of your slim and you will have all of your data like before. But no, it can't be used with the dual nand on the retail side. Your retail hard drive has to be 320gb or less. It will need to be either a WD flashed with hddhackr, or a genuine Microsoft drive. You will need to swap hard drives according to what nand side you will use. (I would recommend backing up your whole 2tb using ftp and then wipe your drive and format it to fat32, then connect it via USB to your Xbox and ftp all your data back onto it. Then plug your retail drive into the hard drive bay, and you can leave your RGH drive plugged into USB all the time and never have to mess with swapping them. That's what I've done with my dual nand jasper. The 2tb don't hurt anything being plugged in while on retail, retail nand can't see it anyways.) Get a E model if you like the looks, nothing is really changed on it other than body style and removal of 1 USB port, pick what looks better to you :)

As ultimate360 mentioned. Keep an unmodified drive connected directly and the 2TB drive as an external USB drive. I believe someone did a mod that allowed the console to *switch* hard drives when pressing the switch NAND button.

I appreciate all the responses. I do have one more question...

With the DVD drive being flashed to read backup copies, is this no longer possible with a dual-nand system? Well, I guess it would be possible, but wouldn't the live side be banned anyway once M$ discovered my DVD drive is flashed? How does that work with the dual-nand setup?

Also, why not use the 4GB Corona for dual-band?

I was actually looking at doing with the 360e. I didn't want to get a bunch of internal storage with it because I figure I already have my 2TB hard drive, and a lot of internal storage is just cash I don't need to spend.

Again, I appreciate all the great info here. And, FWIW, I've always appreciated the efforts of TX. I've bought many of their products in the past and have always been satisfied. But, as you can tell, it's been a while since I've done modding and I have some catching up to do. Thanks everyone.
