its probably glued on there....back in my PC modding days we used to take a can of compressed air and turn it upside down and spray it between the HSF and the chip...this would freeze the glue and then you can take a credit card and slowly and carefully pry it off. There may be a more conventional way of doing it but thats the way i remember doing it.
Second the upside down can of compressed air. The propellant used "freezes". Another method I used on video cards is throwing the card in the freezer over night
The heatsink is really only stuck on with the thermal transfer pad - essentially double sided foam and practically useless - in a lot of instances it does more harm than good.
the screwdriver is what i used. there's no glue or nethin just some clips holdin it in and it's a lil stuffed in there. becareful but don't be afraid to give it a good yank...
There are tutorials on xbox scene on how to do this its not glues on the thermal paste holds it on. The gpu is hardest as it has the largest surface area just be care ful twist and lift like taking a lid off something, !!DO not use TOOLS unless u r sure as it will trash the sh*t out of your xbox!!!
o another thing for when u get it off u may want to do the replacement thermal paste mod to shave off so temp.
Two long flat screwdrivers, push down on both sides of the fan and push the screwdrivers outwards from the fan. Then pull the fan towards the front of the XBOX cos it's got two clips that hold the top of it to the top of the metal grill.
