Quick HD question

I just did an X3 install on a buddies computer and he didn't want his stock drive anymore as I upgraded it to a 200GB drive.

I didn't unlock the drive prior to taking it out and I'm just wondering if I can just hook it up to a PC and just do a format on it or does it have to be completely unlocked to even format.

FYI I don't need any data on it at all.

it has to be unlocked and dont format it on a comp you need to format it with all the xbox partitions C,E,F,G,X,Y,Z other wise you might mess it up . look on www.xbox-scene.com for tuts.

I don't want to reuse it in an xbox, I just want to use it as a PC drive? A raw format on the drive won't work?

has to be unlocked. You can either take it back to the xbox you took it from and unlock it or ask your buddy to do a backup and give you the info.
With the info you can unlock it and format it on a PC.
ATAPWD is a good program to use available in the TOOLS section of www.xbox-scene.com.
