Just installed my X3 and everything went very well (3 cheers to TeamX for a great design etc) i turned on the Xbox and checked the primary Bios (blue) and works great, then checked disabled bios and that worked good but when i try the 256k backup it starts out pink (blue and red) and then changes to blue. Is this normal or do i need to double check my solder?

Thanks in advance

I tried searching for this topic but didnt find any results
thanks in advance.

Xbox 1.6 (X3) everything else is stock ~

Keep holding both buttons for longer. You have to hold them for a few seconds to get it to go into the backup bios. Also, it's purple for future reference (red + blue = purple). Only reason I even mention that is becuase I had no idea what you were talking about (pink) at first.

Does it still boot to the backup bios; it's just the color that's wrong? Mine does the same thing, and I have no clue as to why. It doesn't screw anything up, it just deprives me of the purpleness.

AJerman: I've tried holding the buttons longer, and that ends up either rebooting the Xbox, booting it with the chip disabled, or ejecting the drive. My experience with the Power/Eject board has been less than desirable; I just unplugged it. For as often as I need the backup bios, I don't mind opening my box.

Weird, never had a problem here. I just mentioned that becuase I know that the very first time I tried to boot into 256k backup I pressed both buttons then let go immediatly and it flashed purple then went back to blue and booted with the chip on instead of booting the backup. Just trying the easy solution first ;)

Ever since I got my x3 installed back, when it first came out when I go to the backup flashbios my led turns purple just for a split second and then stays blue. It runs fine like that, so don't worry about the color of the led as long as it works, right? :)

just hope you never have a problem with your main BIOS and have to load up the back up bios to reflash the main one i like the fact that everything "Works as intended" on my X3 i am completely satisfied with it. Also i cant even stress enought how benifical these forums were. The Search button does work, and provided a wealth of information from tut's to advice on the mutiplicity of problems ppl were having. I have to admit i was a little scared to try this mod but after i finished it, and powered it up for the first time and it worked, oh the joy! Thaks to all of you out there that stressed the fact to be slow and take your time with this procedure. Now I cant wait for the X3CP to come out so i can order my X3CP / LCD / X3 IR upgrade. Major Kudos to the Xecuter Team and everyone who worked on this First Class Product.
