TIPS AND ADVICES FOR BEGINNERS: READING AND WRITING THE NAND.

(PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE DOING ANYTHING)
1. Keep all wires short as you can. I personally do about 8-10inches. Any more and it is just more resistance on the line.
2. Keep all soldered connections clean, no need for excess solder, again more resistance.
3. Keep your stems of resistors/diodes also short, not too short, but not super long either. I personally keep about 3-4mm of space from the resistor/diode for soldering, that includes the wire on one side. For example sticking the diode through the hole, and leaving 3-4mm of space from the board to the diode itself.
4. Make sure you are using 100 OHM resistors not 100K resistors.
5. Get yourself a radio shack lpt connector, so you can build it yourself for 3$, this way you can build a connector with just the pins you need instead of cutting up a cable that probably will not work anyway because the wiring inside the cable is different than what we need.
6. Do not do anything with your pc while it is reading/writing. This can cause errors while reading/writing. Start it and come back in 40 minutes or so.
7. Diodes of course all have black bands facing toward the motherboard.
8. I personally get better results with the resistors connected to the lpt connector and wires to the board, rather than the other way around. Again I do not know if this really matters (it shouldn't) but maybe that timing thing is why this works better for me? Its up to you.
9. Make sure to cut all excess stems from under motherboard, when you push the wire/resistor/diode through the hole, cut the excess under the board so no shorts can happen.
10. Take the motherboard all the way out of the box, and just prop it up behind your pc with only the power cord plugged in. Make sure you plug the power into the board BEFORE plugging the lpt connector into the pc, again this works for me the best AND it states it in nandpro instructions.
11. If you flash xell to get cpu key, afterward when flashing freeboot or xbr, make sure you erase the nand first before flashing xbr or freeboot.
12. ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AT LEAST 2 100% MATCHING NANDS BEFORE PROCEEDING ON TO FLASHING ANYTHING!!!
13. Don't worry the program "degraded" never has worked for me, nor a lot of others. You do not need it. 360 flash tool will tell you the cb number without having the cpu key. Just open it and look.
14. Make sure you have port95nt installed before reading/writing of the nand.
15. Your pc has multiple settings for the lpt port in the bios. You will have to play with these settings if you have "can not find flash controller" errors. Some say SPP is best some say EPP is best, You may have to try both.
16. If you think your soldering is perfect and you still get "can not find flash controller" and you have tried all of your bios settings, try another pc first! THEN if that also fails, you should then go back over your soldering and connections.
17. If you have 1 or 2 errors while reading this may be ok. You will know this is ok if you have 2 or more 100% matching nands. If you do have 2 or more 100% matching nands then you call those 1 or 2 errors "bad blocks", and you will need to go over how to move your bad blocks. I do not cover this as I have not come across bad blocks "yet".
18. If you do not see the extentions of your files on your pc, for example... port95nt.exe if you do not see the .EXE then you need to change some options.
Open a folder and go to Tools...Folder Options...then UNCHECK the box that says "HIDE EXTENSIONS OF KNOWN FILE TYPES". When doing these mods or in my opinion just using a computer you should know what file extensions are and what they do. This stops files being named for example nand1.bin.bin it should be nand1.bin
