Hi Team-Xecuter,

Here is my first CR4 R-JTAG+ Jasper 512mb install. But it doesn't work. Before the CR4 I had a CoolRunner Rev C installed but it was to slow for me so I decided to upgrade to the CR4. I chose for the R-JTAG+ method. I installed the NAND-X wires and in JRunner I created an XeBuild image and selected: JTAG>RJTAG>Aud_Clamp?. Then I wrote the image to my Jasper and installed the CR4. Now here comes the problem. The first time I plugged in the PSU the Xbox turned on by itself without me pressing the power button. I directly unplugged the PSU and looked for solder splashes but I couldn't find any. So I plugged in the PSU and it didn't turn on by itself so I pressed the power button and the ring of light wouldn't turn on but before (when it turned on by itself) it did, so now with no ring of light the fans still spinned up and the debug led on the CR4 turned on and stayed on. A few seconds later you could hear the fans glitching rapidly and the debug LED also flashed rapidly.

Template:

  • Console Type: Jasper
  • Programmer Used: NAND-X & JRP v2
  • NAND Size: 512
  • Dashboard version: 2.0.17150
  • CB Version: 6754
  • Screenshot of NAND details from J-Runner: (attach an image to your post)
  • J-Runner log
  • updflash.bin log (if applicable)
  • Image of the CR4 XL
  • Images of close-up soldering to motherboard (attach images to your post)
  • Detailed Description of the Problem: See above
  • Was the console working before you started: Y
  • Do you get a green debug light appear on the CR4 XL chip every 4-5 seconds: NO
  • How long is the light on for each time: n.a

I changed the STBY_CLK (point B on the CoolRunner) to the alternative point. I hoped it would help but it didn't do anything...

I hope this is enough information, I will be including a video in a few minutes.

Thank You! Any help is greatly appreciated!

I soldered point C to FT6U7 which was wrong, I had left the yellow wire there from the RGH2 install. There is only one problem, my Ring of Light doesn't work :(

I think the ring of light problem has something to do with the rjtag qsb. I think you should resolder the small resistor on the edge of the jtag qsb. I had that problem with old rjtag 1.1 and if i remember it correctly that resistor was causing that problem

Hmmmm are you sure I need to solder this point? In the official install guide it says I shouldn't. Have a look here. I don't want to burn my console :eek2:. Thank you for your reply!

Not solder. I mean if you already soldered it that resistor makes problems with rol. If you didnt than it doesn matter

why do you have the grey wire soldered to the resister , it should go to the pad next to it r4b24

Thanks for your reply, I thought I could also solder it to the resistor. Now I changed it to this. I wanted to use the alternative point because I was afraid that I would damage the normal point.

I have a jasper , I have just number 4 dip on and it boots as soon as I press the on button
Thanks for the reply and for the tip! It now boots 1 glitch faster which CAP are you using (or other settings). My jasper still doesn't have a working ring of light. And it keeps freezing, did you use the magic smc? It is not working for me: http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?149975-Magic-SMC-Files-R-JTAG-Error-in-JRunner

the resistor at r2r12,right under that number where the jtag qsb solders into the resistor, its that resistor that either needs resoldered or replaced, that will bring the ring of light back and end the freezing.and dont solder the qsb there.iirc it should measure around 8.k ohm.

Tip for wire placement stay away from the area directly under the HANA Chip, my jasper would freeze and i rerouted wires and it now works great no freezing.
i put the CPU_RST in one hole and the yellow and white through another. so move the wires down. closer to the xclamps, becareful with the CPU_RST wire not to lift the pad, secure the position of that wire first then work on the others . good luck

don't you mean R2P12 mate , this one OP is the xbox doing anything or is it dead , if its dead you need to look at this resister as NOFELONIESYET said
