RCM question

I recently obtained a switch that is on OFW 8.0.1. The serial number indicates that it is NOT patched but for the life of me I can't get it into RCM with my jig. Would there be any other reason that I can't get into RCM other than the jig not making proper contact?

No, patched units can still enter RCM mode so it must be not making good contact.

Tell us the step your doing to get into RCM
And what happens when is should enter RCM ?

Switch is off. I take the right controller off and insert jig all the way down. I hold the up volume button and turn the power on. The Nintendo logo pops up immediately and it boots into OFW.
