Hi

I try to reprogram Coolrunner but get this error

----------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
INFO:iMPACT - Current time: 01-12-2011 14:29:41

Only read LED lights up after it have bin program one time, and it fail to verify.

If i take a brand new Coolrunner i can program it fine one time.

I use the original USB JTAG cabel from xili... HS1 rev. A

It dont fit to coolrunner becuse its the wrong way in coolrunner and it cant pugin, so i have to de solder the pinheader and resolder it to get it on.

Why make it the other way around so coolrunner aint plug and play on the original Xili.. USB JTAG cabel. ?

duh....it's a TX product designed to be used with the official TX cable lol - that's why

This dont explain why it only want to update one time, official TX cable is just a clone of the original cable that have the connector swap the other way around, programming is the same.

About the cable.

Why make it the other way around ?

Just to sell some more official TX cable that is just made the other way around so we cant use what we allready have in our hands ?

If we have to use the official TX cable, then we can just wait with our coolrunner in our hands until they get the official TX cable in stock ?

Normal its not a problem but because the Coolruner have pins flat to the board its not possible to turn it around other then desolder the pins and solder them back on i another angel, just not fun when you have 100+ pcs to do this way.

Don't get me wrong but this is not COOL, and only to expect from some sh*t team and not from TX.

if you can desolder and change the angle of the pin headers I'm sure you have the ability to modify your cable to fit. it would be a lot less work than changing 100 pin headers.
or buy the cable that it's designed to be used with,
you only need one and its not like they're expensive.
and if you have 100's to do I'm sure you will make your money back.

Yes i can, just missing one part to do this, as it is now i have to desolder and change the angle of the pin headers.

I have pre-order the cable but its not in stock, and are waiting...... its not the money, just dont understand why make it the other way so an original usb jtag wont fit on, the one that is mention all over web, when i pre-order Coolrunner there was no sign of a special TX LTP JTAG, think it came out same day they ship Coolrunner.

This is not the main problem, the problem is to re-program Coolrunner, like the log showes in first post.

Same problem for me. I have 3 coolrunners and 1 Maximus Stinger that were fine to program at the first time, but all failed at the second time. It must be something going on here and needed to be clarified or explained. Coolrunner uses xilinx chip, and it should be fined to program with the HS1 cable.:confused:

Now have the same problem on Matrix as well, so 4 now we only program them once and let them be like this, hope some with the right skills can fix this.

Never had this problem. Reprogrammed both CR and Matrix. Only difference is that I'm using a Xilinx LPT cable. Maybe a USB problem?

Thanks for the replies guys, one more thing did you use another source for power or just used the gligli schematic without modification?

If I use a ck3 for power then do I disconnect the vcc from the lpt jtag cable?

Used this schematic and powered from 3.3v power supply and set to NOR. Programmed in a few secs.
