Sad but true -- Neither Divineo, System-Mods, or Chipdealer are willing to flash the X3 mod chip with FlashBios 3.03 to work with Xbox 1.6b. Does anyone knows which reseller or distributor is sellings these mods with FlashBios 3.03?

thats almost not true i bought my x3 from System-Mods last week, knowing I have a 1.6b and they "preflash" with 3.03 so i bought from them with confidence. I even left a comment to Please check and make sure the chip has FlashBios 3.03 because I have a 1.6b and dont wont to be stuck with a useless chip. To this day im sitting with a useless chip waiting for my friend to get his x3 installed so i can do a swap. Dont trust what the resellers tell you all they care is about the $$$ customers come as number 2 instead of vice versa.xecuter said:

modchip.ca is where i got my x3 for my 1.6b. Like it was said before they ask the mfg date of your console before you buy so just get that right and your all set
I also ordered two X3's from system-mods. They did not flash them with 3.03 bios although it says they do on their site. So I'm stuck having to track down a older box I modded so I can reflash it with the proper bios.
I know this for certain as I took a chip out of another modded 1.6b box I did for a friend and it worked fine.
Needless to say I'm pretty unhappy with system-mods This issue has wasted a lot of my time.

When you buy, the form asks for your xbox type.
Still didn't make sense though, that the chip came with 3.01 in one bank (useless) and 3.03 in the other (good).

BMMods very happily reflashed my X3, and quickly too. I only wish that I had known to ask them to flash it at order time. Would have saved both of us the time/money in shipping. I would hope that the X3 manufacturers would flash future units with both 3.01 and 3.03 in a separate bank to make sure that it always works regardless of version. (Maybe they already do though, I notice folks talking about trying different bank settings. That didn't work for me, alas.)
I' ve purchased an x3CE from system-mods. when I installed it, I couldn't get video at all with the chip enabled. is this the reason why it's not working? because I'm using a 3.01 on a 1.6b? I assumed it was version 3.03 because it said so on their website.
so if the chip isnt flashed with 3.03 and i have a 1.6b then i might as well bought a 30 dollar piece of crap

I by accident bought a pack of Verbatim DL DVD-R. Is it possible with any program to backup you xbox games onto this disks or does it only work on DL DVD+R?

i have read reports of success with -r dl,and with verbs the quality will be good, so why dont you try them.

The layer break can not be set on a DVD-R DL so if you are trying to not get banned then I would not use them, if you do not care about being banned or just do not use XBL then I would go ahead and try them.turny said:

They will work, but I am pretty sure that you can set the layer break on them. Though, like mr pete said, be safe and go buy another pack and maybe sell those to your friends

I dont play on XBL so that is not my prob. I tried to set the layer break using ImgBurn but said cant be done.(tried CloneCD aswell) I said go ahead anyway. Yes that DVD is not working anymore. Can someone maybe tell me what program to use to set the layer break. I have looked on forus everywere and cant find something on this.
I already opened one of the packs.
