Hello . I bought this Trinity that has a RGH inside but it's deactivated ( previous owner had a Live Gold subscription ) . I would like to reactivate the RGH . I've got some files from him , 3 x nanddump , 1 x updflash , 1 x image_0000.ecc , cpu_key , fuses , kv_info ..

I have a J-R Programmer ( very first model ) and a TX QSB for Trinity . I have done some weekend soldering but never on an Xbox
From what i notice some wires from the CR install must be desoldered and re-soldered on the QSB . So you guys recommend i do that ?

To be honest, I'd just leave the CoolRunner install as it is, write updflash.bin to the console's NAND (I recommend building a new image first), set the CR switch to NOR and test it.

So , from what i can see in this pic here http://www.team-xecuter.com/nandx_pics/nandx_slim.jpg soldering J-R would not interfere with the current soldering
Only problem is i do not wish to cut the cables that go into the QSB ( can i find spare ones to buy ? ) also i'd prefer to have the QSB because when MS offers free Xbox Live weekends i'd like to reflash to stock nand .

Ok , any precautions when desoldering the wires and any tips for soldering the QSB ?
You can buy another jr p cable I would leave the install as is and like BL4K3Y said build a new image and write that... Any soldering make sure you use flux and a small tip iron

I managed to install the QSB and flash a glitched image but i think i might have connected to Live with the RGH on and i'm afraid i was banned. I want to go back to the stock NAND to check if i'm banned or not . Can i leave the Coolrunner in the NOR position ( turned on ) ?

The only way you connected to Live with RGH is if you didn't tick 'dashlaunch patches' in J-Runner or edited launch.ini to allow you to connect.

If you want to test it, write the original NAND back and set to PRG.

The console is assembled and only the cable from the QSB comes outside . Is it mandatory to set the CR switch to PRG ?
I wouldn't want to open it up again ...

Yes, Without that set to PRg then it CR will not be disabled.

Sometimes listening to the answer given is better than asking more questions.

Yes it is. Setting the switch to prg disables the coolrunner.

I see , but if the NAND is non-glitched then CR wil have no effect on it . So why not leave it on if it won't do anything ?
Why would it not do anything? It would be attempting to glitch your retail console

I'm just asking some logical questions here...

1 . If i flash to non glitched and leave the CR on , the result will be

a ) console won't boot at all ?
b ) console will boot with a delay ?
c ) console will boot but CR will be detected by MS and i get a ban on Live ?

2 . Is there any way to disable it without opening up the console ? Can i do this with the QSB V3 EXT adapter for JR/NAND-X ?

Yes! unplug the psu plug from xbox, that will disable the coolrunner for sure without opening it up.

Lol, so rather than taking our word for it, you experimented.
Let's not make a habit of it or else this wouldn't be a support forum, but rather a "try it and report back because we are blindly leading you in the wrong direction" forum.
