I hope I don't get flamed about this. Like the title says I have a rrod mobo that I use for practicing my solder skills, I can solder wires all right but I've never solder qsb's. If I solder the qsb's included in the nand-x kit can I read the nand since I don't have to power on the console? thanks for your help...

As long as the Power Brick doesn't go red when u plug it in yes you can. Just solder the QSB correctly and Dump the Nand to your computer:)

BTW i dont know if it's just me but i can never for the life of me Desolder those QSB's so make sure you can get them off without damaging them:)

Thanks guys for your replies. Indeed the power brick doesn't turn red when I connect it so I will give this a try tomorrow. Thanks again.

Try some desoldering braid, I've had great success with that. If you don't have any, stripped speaker wire works great to.
