I hate doing the software stuff!
Anywho, I soldered the coolrunner, qsb's, connected my nand-x, programmed the coolrunner, but when I try to read the nand I get,

looking for usb device
can not continue
press any key

I tried with jtag tool, then the nandpro 30,(I had to put DLPortIO.dll in the folder that the noob friendly info never mentioned) I then removed the qsb's, wired direct with the same error.
It can't be the nand-x as it did the coolrunner, I tried my v2.0 nand-x and I got the "wrong arm" dubby firkings thing, so I'm lost
guess I'll try another box, but would like to know if I can do this one.
Thanks.

Did you install the NAND-X drivers from this website (Not from nand pro)? You're suppose to wire the nand part and dump the nand before installing your coolrunner but it shouldnt matter. Can we get some install pics please?

I'm with Kapil, it's either a wiring error/issue or drivers but i'm leaning towards drivers. Chances of a bad nand-x are slim...plus it just worked on the CR board.

I've done a few jtags, is it the same driver for the nand-x v3.0, I've looked for drivers but the best I found was the old drivers work ok, I'm sure the install is ok, does it matter if the coolrunner is installed first? I disconnected the top wires when I removed the qsb's but the 3 on the bottom are still connected.

Had the same issue with many xboxs. Its NOT your pc NOT your nand x.

Its either your wiring or your PSU

ok just opened a jasper, wired direct to board, no coolrunner, and it read the nand first time.
It's not my wiring, it's either somthing wrong with the board, or the 3 wires underneath connected to the coolrunner,

Can someone say if it matters if the coolrunner is connected first or not.

I can diagnose it now, just it'll take time.

Many people say that their nand reads failed with the cool runner installed while reading their nand. Then again, they had horrible soldering skills.

It really shouldnt matter because the coolrunner is not accepting power when the console is off and the nand read is independent of the coolrunner.

How well fluxed and soldered are the qsb's. If you take a picture, it will be easier to diagnose.

Well just had another look, couldn't see owt, decided to try 1 more time before removing the 3 lower cables, and it worked, nand read, the only thing I can think is I turned my pc off after all the failures and after restarting I went straight to the 2nd 360.
So now to connect the coolrunner again and see what happens.
Thanks.

Glitched and working fine:biggrin:
Not sure what it was, maybe a gremlin in my pc,

Another thing I used jtag tool, as like in my op I'm not best at software and did my jtags with that no problem, but I don't see any info on using it, I'll start another thread about it.

Thanks.
