JTAG Read Nand?

Hey there you guys!

The other day I happend to find an old Xenon Xbox running dash 2.0.4xxx!
So I bought and thought I would be fun to Jtag it.
I am using the Old-school LPT port, to read my nand!
Here is the thing.
Nandpro won't read my Nand, if I have resistors on the LPT cable.
However without, I seems to work just fine.
Can I leave out the resistors on the cable?
Or does they have to be there?
