The problem i got, i follow the tutorial from the downloads section here...

I configure Xtreme boot maker following the tutorial, the auto detect function doesn't select my nforce 590 sata controller, so i use the function to read all the controllers on my motherboard, and i select the first sata item in the list...

After the succesfull message in xtreme boot maker, i boot my computer and connect to the dvd-drive using the 0800 mode...

Then i try to read and backup my now existing (hacked) firmware, when i give the xread commando, i can select the (1) xtreme primary and (2) xtreme slave. So i decided to take the primary, after this the poweron led begins flickering, but after 10 minutes the situation is the same as the 1st minute, no changes on the screen, when i hit the ESC buton, xread tells me that the thread after 10 minutes nothing doned...

(This is my story, and sorry about my bad english :))

Pretty much exactly what happens on my end...After hitting ESC a message says "Port: fe20, Master/Slave:b0"....I've tried all 5 or 6 different SATA ports and always the same result...It recognizes the drive but does nothing...I'm stumped..I've been trying different configurations for 2 days...Even installed different drivers from Nvidia but that didn't help either..

I think we must try the hexedit method... i have found a post about it on xbox-scene, http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=574845

I just readed a topic (over 4 days long), and they say that you must disconnect all the devices from the motherboard, not only the sata connections, but also the IDE devices

I looked at MTKFLash with Hex Workshop and all the info looks right for my setup..

I don't have any IDE devices plugged in...
Here's my MTKFLash...Maybe someone can look at it and see if it's right...Looks right to me

Allright, i've searched over 5 days (included this one) for a solution... On every forum or site they say nothing about the nforce 500 series, nobody haves a clear answer, is it possible or not?

Tomorrow i'll flash the drive with my old ASUS P5RD1 ULI chipset...

I allready flashed a few xboxes with my ULI chipset on my second computer. This morning I flashed my xbox with 5.3 D, using the enable 0800 mode, everything worked fine...

But this is offtopic news, this thread was to solve those problems with the nforce 500 mobo series... I am afraid to say that flashing using this mobo isn't compatible with samsung drives
