1) Xbox Version
2) Region of Xbox (USA NTSC / UK PAL etc etc)
3) Bios version you are using

Dont forget always use latest X3 bios (current at time of post is 1959)

Also make sure you read all the tutorials we give you. If you don't then no wonder you are asking for support ;)

There are 2 types of bios - X3 1959 for v1.0 - v1.5 and X3 1959 v1.6plus for v1.6 & v1.6b for (ta daaa) v1.6 Xbox's

If you dont provide this info when asking for help - don't be surprised if you dont get any help.

When flashing set switches to....

1) on on off off off

OR

2) off off off off off

OR

3) No Switch Connected at all

The 5th switch is secondary flash protection ALWAYS set to OFF when flashing

And one more is VERY important: be sure your FTP client upload files in BINARY mode, not ASCII. Uploading binary file in ASCII mode will corrupt bios file during transfer!!!

Well appearantly it's impossible to transfer in binary mode since the builtin ftp server in the x3 bios doesn't seem to support it. Very strange but all uploads are done in ASCI mode automatically. The FTP client can not influence it.

BenQ only playing DVD's need some advice PLEASE!

So I have a BenQ trying to flash and put in my 360. Ive done many many drives before so I know what I'm doing. Flashed over 1.61 even tried 1.6, and 1.51. I'm 100% certain I have the right drive key even tried putting this BenQ in another xbox still doesn't work. Says "play DVD" in both xbox's with the right keys. Everything with the flash goes great each time. Flashed a Liteon with the same key I tried with the BenQ and it worked no prob. I pop in a movie any other type of DVD any plays no prob, but neither retail NOR backups work. So if anyone's got an idea floating around it would sure be helpful. I'd hate to put a beautiful BenQ to waste. Thanks!

Re: BenQ only playing DVD's need some advice PLEASE!

i just had that problem but mine was the dvd key. Are you sending an outro/ata? also may be different but how i got mine to work. I ended up bricking it for a min so i had to use dosflash32, i erased the firmware on there closed dosflash32 then opened jungleflasher, it didn't see my drive but i knew what port it was in and did the unlock method anyways and boom it saw my drive now in vendor mode, from there i just loaded and wrote the firmware on, sent the outro done. Been workin like a charm.

Yeah whenever i brick a drive ill just use iprep and unbrick them in dos, that always works fine. But this ones been bricked already and completely erased. I do everything perfectly with the flash, outro ata every time and still nothing, this just doesnt make any sense. Ill try the dosflash32 like you said and see how it goes.

Does it work with OFW or not?

If it does, then just redo the CFW for the drive, something may have messed up.

No luck with BenQ stock ive tried all fw's from 1.5 to 1.61 including stock, none have worked this is so weird i think something else is wrong with this drive.
