*SOLVED* Read/Write fine, XBR problems..

Hey guys I recently installed my NAND-X, dumped my nand with no problems.. when it comes to installing XeLL iv had no luck.. I receive a E79 error.. although when I flash back to my original nand it works perfectly fine..

Iv been following the JTAG alternative SMC tutorial.. can anyone shed some light on getting this working ?

Everything you need is in the tutorial. I'm assuming you got a HDMI version board?

Yes iv got a HDMI version board, obviously iv followed everything in the tutorial and its not working.. so therefore I need second advice.

Although on one of my last attemptes when trying to flash my original nand, Iv been unsuccessful been getting 3 light RROD..

Going to restart my PC and try agian.

*UPDATE* Flashed original nand back on, works fine.. although after a few more attempts of getting XeLL installed no luck. E79...

So, you have soldered the wires to the alternate JTAG points and then wrote XeLL with modified SMC to your NAND and still get E79?

1. Make sure you are selecting the correct alternate JTAG points while editing the SMC file.

2. Check the soldering of the JTAG wires.

3. Make sure you have Jtaggable console.

By the way, if you follow the tutorial exactly as its written, you install XBR instead of XeLL. You opted to install XeLL instead of XBR due to personal preference. I suggest you follow the tutorial exactly as it is in order to minimize the problems with the process.

I have followed that tutorial exactly to detail 3 times now with the same result. Thats a title error which iv now fixed.

JTaggable console ?

2BL [CB] :: 5761
4BL [CD] :: 5761
Kernel :: 2.0.7363.0

Iv redone my soldering twice already, after all the JTAG soldering is the easiest.. two simple wires soldered point to point.

There must be another reason why this isn't working the way it should.. or an alternative.

Iv tryed the tip with in the tutorial explaining how to use JTAG tool, although its a little confusing can someone please go into a little more detail explaining how to use JTAG tool to flash when using the alternative JTAG SMC points ?

Which motherboard do you have? Is it a Falcon or a Zephyr?

If everything including the soldering is fine, then you must have made some mistake with software side. Are you sure you selected the correct JTAG points in UpdateMySMC?

Positive, Software side is perfect.. im starting to doubt my soldering tho.. iv been reading alot of the topics on here and it all leads to soldering..

I may wire up the QSB tomorrow.. instead of using the points..

You think I could snap the QSB to expose the points with out casuing shorts ?

Also are there replacement QSB for sale ?

Ill show you an eg.

Yeah, you should try that. Hopefully it will fix the E79.

Link wire ? Little confused..

*UPDATE* Resoldered the JTAG, cut the sections as I posted on page 1.. soldered wire to point from the QSB.. got my fuse keys now.. in the process of getting freeboot installed.
