Hi!

I'll try to describe my problem the best I can and I hope someone can help me. I bought a rrod xbox. The guy said I can be jtagged, and it turns on sometimes. It has a xenon motherboard, and has a dashboard before 7371. At this time I don't have an ac adapter to try it, so I cracked it open to see, if anything has been soldered etc. I only got a T-10 screw, so I only could get the case off. Now I saw, that the jtag points have been soldered once, and the nand has been read out (I think). I'm new to this jtag thing, but I've been reading forums for a while, in order to get some knowledge about it.
Okay here's my question:

If someone wanted to read the nand, would be the picture I linked enough or it's obligatory needed to solder the diodes in?
This answer could help me, wether it's already jtagged or not? Please notify me, if I have misread something in the jtag tutorials. Thank you for your answers. Oh and one thing, I forgot. The motherboard was a little burnt" and I can see the copper shining on it. I'm providing a picture too, where it is.

Is this a big problem? Thank you again for your answers, sorry to rob your time.

You first link is the correct points to read and write the nand. You second link shows that some work has been done as there is no solder left in the holes so someone has desoldered them. It is not currently Jtaged as there is no Diodes attached as shown in your second link.

I didn't take these pictures, I just posted them to show where the motherboard has been "burnt". The other question I asked, was it possible to read the nand without soldering the jtag points, only those which are on the first picture?

^ Yes. You don't need the Jtag wiring for reading the NAND.

Can I do anything with the motherboard? I'm going to get some pin headers in a week or two and I'll try to read the nand from the box. Hope it's going to work. If I have some news about it, I'll post it here.

^ OK. Keep us updated.

So I made a pic of my motherboard. I think someone wanted to prevent reading the nand, if this doesn't allow it, I don't know, haven't tried it because the lack of accessories. Did you see anything like this? I'm thinking about bridgeing the two sides of that copper thing, I heard it could be O.K. that way. What do you think about it?

I'll try to repair those points when I get the accessories for it. It's hard to find a cygnos chip here.
Repair it !!! hope you didn't do that lol forget repairing if you did its a mess on the J1D2 its also missing a bridged component right where it says C1D7.

I didn't do this "job". What do you suggest?
I suggest move on use it for parts that bridged component can not be put back on pads are burnt away buddy and a soldering iron wouldn't do it anyway there is nothing on the opposite side of the board of that component ether.
So you can stay at it and give yourself a useless headache or move on to something else. ;)
