Hello,
its not my first xbox that im doing rgh on it, but its the first jasper. My friend asked me to do it, so i decided to try. I have a 512mb Jasper with wired Nand-x. Im trying to read the nand, but im getting errors. Im pretty sure my soldering is good. Maybe i should ignore this errors and create nand file? Similar problem appeared with other falcon, but replacing usb cable to other port helped.

This is the error:

usb_control_msg failed -5
usb_bulk_read failed -5
usb_control_msg to Read Flash Status has failed -5
usb_bulk_read failed -116
Error:3787 reading block 7FD8
usb_control_msg failed -5
usb_bulk_read failed -5
usb_control_msg to Read Flash Status has failed -5
usb_bulk_read failed -116

And it continues a lot of times, till it comes to "Press any key..."

Have you installed the NAND-X drivers?

Which command are you using to read your NAND?
As i said i did some other rgh's on other consoles. So, yes, i installed them. Im using jtag tool. And the errors doesnt come up at the start. It reading about 30 minutes and only then errors appears... Something like that:

hmm one more strange thing.
When error appear, finishes reading and im saving it. It doesnt let me to read nand again, im getting no device found error. I have to re-plug usb cable to have possibility for reading.

It seems its like more software related proplem?

It is not necessary to read the whole NAND. Just the first 64mb. I use jtag tool for all me reads and writes except on big block jaspers. Command line in nandpro is better for these

-r64 nand.bin

I had a BB Jasper here with many 210 errors however I had 4 complete matching dumps both in 64/256. I ran a 64mb through XNAND Healer and confirmed no bad ECC blocks. I re-mapped the bad bad blocks with XNAND Healer, ran the remapped NAND through 360 Multi Builder to create the ECC (not necessary but why not), flashed ECC, successfully booted Xell, created my NAND with MB and it worked perfectly. As long as you have matching dumps and you know your soldering is good you should be OK.

Do not forget capacitors for Jaspers or bridge CAP point on CR REV B.

Let's clarify something:

1. You do NOT need to dump any more than 64MB of a Big Block NAND. Anything over this is your MU.
2. If you DO manage to dump a full 256/512, ignore ALL bad blocks over 0x1000 as they would have been SKIPPED. There's no remapping of bad blocks in the MU area.

Therefore, it's best for all concerned that you just don't dump anything that high as it just causes confusion.

Thank you for all of you guys. I did what you recommended, dumped only 64mb nand and everything went perfect. No bad blocks everything is booting and working perfect. I couldnt even imagine that in about 30 times of trying, it always booted at first flash ( instant ). Because you know, i read that there are some jaspers that are really hard to get good booting times or to boot at all. Anyway thank you for your help :) Now i tried all types of consoles to make an rgh ( falcon, jasper, trinity ).
