Really odd

Ok my box has been running fine for at least 8 months. Then last week out of nowhere I get a frag on boot up. I open up my box to check my connections and reset the chip on the pin header and everything is back to normal. Weeks go by and then I get another frag so I try the same remedy. This time the front piece(with the bank select switches) has no leds lighting up and the box boots to the ms dash. What gives? the blue led on the chip is still lit, but its like the chip isnt there. Any ideas?

Ok I decided to pull the board and check my connections. Now I am fraging again. Can any point cause the frag? Or is there one or more I should concentrate on. I do not understand why when all the connections are still the same I am fraging now. I could see if one had come loose, but I gots 8 month of problem free running with the connections I orginally made. Thanks for any help in advance.
Oh one more important question. Do I have to rehook the HD and DVD-ROM before I can check to see if it is good?

You can start your box without the DVD/HDD connected if you start up with your chip enabled

Make sure you didn't pinch any wires when you put it back together. I would also try unplugging the switches, and plugging them back in to make sure the problem isn't with that connection.
