hi i just baught the X3 and the Xapt3r solderless. i installed it and put it all together and it FRAGS. so i reinstalled all of it and put it back together and it frags again. so this time i just took out the DVD rom and HDD and plugged them in outside of the case and guess what it doesnt frag. :( :?
so now.....i get the flash bios screen but i dont flash it. i try to put the xbox back together being as soft as i can. and turn it on again it FRAGS. so now i checked all the wires to see if there being crushed. i found that the external switch wires were being pushed on so i changed the way they were in and put it back together again.....FRAG so i took out the HDD and dvd rom again and connected them and it works again. i am really CONFOOZED. i need help so much and i appreciate your time.

lol thats what i think it is but i have put it back together like 50 times and still it frags. i dont think the chip is being touched in any way. but i moved the IDE just in case. so now nothing is touching the chip. i tried to connect the HDD in the xbox and connect the DVD rom out and itstill frags. the but the HDD is no where near the friggin chip. so now what im going to do is take it all out and try to put the xbox back together the way it was withoout the chip and see if it boots fine. and if that works its definatly something touching the chip or something attached to it. but if it doesnt work i might be something on the power supply. thanks fr posting and ill keep u updated on what happens when i do it soon.

maybe you should insulate the alternate 5v connector?

From what you've said, something is obviously being moved......

But, now that you are stuck with a FRAG and only a FRAG, a couple questions.

M$ dash is still bootable, right? You are stuck with a FRAG when you try to boot backup and normal chip enabled, right?

If the above is true, your Xapt3r just isn't making a proper connection. Make sure it is sitting correctly on the mobo. You might have too much tension on the screw. Other than that, if it still FRAGs, check for continuity between the Xapt3r pins and the LPC holes. (copper around the holes)

OMG i am soooooooooooooo happy WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT
I FIXED IT> (pheew) man its the xapt3rs shape that was stopping it from working. because i have so little black (square chip) thats part of the mobo and the xapter has like a gap where its supposed to sit in but on my V 1.1 xbox it must be a little over ( or a manufacturing fault) and it was too high so going against advice, i used force to make sure the xapt3r was fully in and i used a blade to cut a bit out of the plastic coating and then pushed it in some more................. now put it back togeter and IT WORKS no frag and flashed the BIOS first go. so for all the people that are having problems with the xapt3r just remember to make sure that the oppsite side the the screw is almost in parallel with the Motherboard. also if you diddnt use those 12 "little gold shiny things" just put then in the PROPER :p LPC holes. ( remember to use a "little"force of really needed) i used about enough to make the Motherboard bow about 2mm. man i was so sick of trying i was going to take someones advice from mIRC and get a hammer and get the Xapt3r and make them friends. :p

BenQ and vendor Modes

Hello everyone,

So I have been thinkign about flashing my xbox for some time now, and finally decided to give it a try. I researched it, and downloaded the lateest JungleFlasher and firmware. the first issue I had was running a 64bit processor, I found a work around. However now I am following the steps and it tells me to get the drive into vendor more. I am using the xbox to power it and I did the half tray trick precisely over and over and over, it's not working. I am stuck, there seems to be nothing in the tutorial about this. I am not sure what to do and would appreciate any help.

Also is JungleFlasher suppose to recongnize which port automatically or do I ahve to choose the right one? JF never said anythign about this....

Thank you....

Re: BenQ and vendor Modes

you should not be using the tray half open trick for the benq any more, unless you have an older ixtreme firmware

just power on the xbox with the drive closed and press benq unlock

you have to find the port the drive is on, look through the ports until you see drive information that matches an xbox360 drive

also, make sure you have a benq!
benq and lite-ons look a lot a like from the top!

yeah I tried this as well, no luck. And I made sure it was a BenQ by looking at the wires from the tutorial. I definetely have the white wires which is BenQ. I am going to try once more tonght, but I have exhausted many hours in this. I was really hoping to accomplish on my own... :(
