GENERAL Really weird xenon

Before I begin, dont say "throw that sh*t away".
Now, on to what I want to say. My xenon is really skrewed up.
-Occasionally boots to blue screen
-Sometimes boots to blue screen, sometimes 3 red rings, sometimes boots 1 red ring
Hardware
-Sunon fans without 12v mod
-xenon
-benq
-power brick is not M$, but works perfectly
-A/V cable is not M$ but wors perfectly
-An "AC" in marker on the ring of light board
I'm really confused. Couldnt find anything related to randomly changing rings.

Gpu without a doubt, they do really goofy things when multiple solder balls are bad. Needs a good ol' reball to get back to perfect working order and reliability.

+Any good tuts on a reball? Right now its sitting here for about 5 minutes and is at a black screen
with a few whote dots. I think it was you who said wait 20 mins and restart it?. But hey, at least no rrod.

Edit: the white dots move a few pixels randomly.

You need the proper equipment to do a rebal and it's very expensive. Your best bet is to send it to someone that's willing to work on a Xenon.

Display issues is are the same thing as red ring. A reball is not something you can not do without a spendy bga rework station and tons of skill and experience first, it's a rather complex process. It's much cheaper to just have someone do it for you, I do them for $40

Rebal is around 50-150 USD? If so thats not too expensive. Of course it may fix itself, as thats happened a few times. Sorry f0r misspellings, im usong a tablet.

Edit: didnt get ultimate360's post till after I typed that oh and its changed to white on the top and bottom, but gradually gets lower.

Not sure what you mean by the rebal is 50-150. If your talking about a piece of equipment Then you should know that you can't even get a rework station for that price. If your talking about a service then see the post above yours.

That is WAY too much for a reball, wow

They only may temporarily work due to the solder expanding from the heat, will always fail consistently though

Maybe I should just invest into a falcon... This thing is so problematic, I'm not sure its worth it.

Get a Jasper. They are even more reliable than a Falcon. You can find good deals on eBay if you look hard enough. I just bought two and have less than $100 total invested.

Might be worth it, they often last many years after a reball and slight fan speed raise

Look for the big sellers. Sometimes you can send them a message and ask if they have any unlisted. They may even make you a better offer than they would normally post.

Dont buy used xenons unless it's reballed or at least reflowed with a cooling upgrade. They fail like crazy without reballs and good gpu work, especially when most used xenons for sale are cheaply "fixed" with bolts pushing down on the processors. Worst thing ever

Not that I know of of. They are just the product of the best and minus the worse of the prior four consoles.

Just got the E71 error. Hmmm... interesting. Says its a hard drive error. I dont even own a hard drive.
