Reballed Falcon E74 when installed to case

hey whats up guys

i sent a falcon out for a reball and once i got it back i rjtagged it and had it running perfect with the motherboard just sitting in the open case for about 3 weeks playing it 3-5 hours a day temps never were above 55C

i decided since it was running pefect booting under 4 attempts everytime it was time to button the case back up


im thinking i shouldnt have screwed it down all the way or so tight.. as soon as i turned it on one boot attempt and it 1 RROD 1022 E74

boots fine into xell but i know it doesnt take nearly as much

i replaced the post qsb ribbon but same results

has anyone seen this E74 caused from the rjtag or is it always a gpu issue? maybe i got ripped off on the reball

E74 is typically the GPU itself dying, not the BGA.

If it works again in the open case, you may have to settle running it like that. GPU reball's aren't a guarantee, they're just a much longer lasting band-aid than a reflow.

Why did you get it reballed to begin with?

you should have had the gpu replaced as e74 is a dead gpu. who ever you took it to should have told you this

anyone reballing worth their salt will know e74 requires replacing not reballing. whoever done the work doesn't know enough to be doing it really and owes you a free fix or refund

thanks alot guys i originally reballed in because it RROD E74

my initial email to the guy said i want replace the gpu all together and he said first he would inspect it to make sure it needed replacing... he then never asked for more money so im guess he didnt replace it...

found him on ebay doing xbox ps3 macbooks..anything with a gpu really... had 98 sales in the xbox auction alone with no one complaining about anything besides time it took. i did not contact him yet because i wasnt sure if that was the problem. auction said 1 year warranty but he could very easily just not answer my emails

iv been on here with only problems and i appreciate all the help.. i hope this stuff keeps going and moves onto the xbox one. maybe i was stupid for reballing and jtagging a RROD 7 year old xbox.. deff alot of fun just still learning

E74 is GPU replacement all day. The problem is there's people advertising on ebay and elsewhere who really don't know what they're doing. I doubt he even reballed it. If you're in the UK, send me the board and I'll check it out for you. If it turns out he didn't reball it, I can write something up for you and get you a refund.

thanks alot martin. im in the US but i was also thinking maybe he didnt even do

im gonna write him an email saying it RROD again and i guess take it from there
