I just tried to install the X3 with the wire install. I had no choice but to use this method because i have a v1.0 xbox. I had some trouble with the d0 but everything else seemed to run smoothly. When i turn on the xbox it reboots 3 times (spins the harddrive up and down each time too) and then on the third boot it stays up and FRAGS. I tryed to disconect the pins from the X3 and boot it up but it does the same thing. Then the damn thing shocked the hell out of me when trying to disconnect the IDE cable. Can anyone help me?

I've had the same problem :(
But that was because the D0 wire didn't made a good connecting.
So i solderd it again and it is running fine now

 always disconnect the power cord. with that shocking happening, you might have caused something do blow. maybe, so dont get all sad just yet.

idk why you might think you HAD to do a wire install. ive gotta v1.0 also, i used the header install. just cuz theres solder there doesnt mean it wont come out.

you might want to try looking over that d0 point. a good way to do that point is to try and pull the jacketing back or stripping the jacket back that way theres more wire showing. take some solder and tin the wire. then put a lil ball of solder on the iron, place the wire right ontop of the d0 point and touch the wire with the iron. not long tho as the solder on the iron is already melted and will instantly make contact with the wire + d0 point.

other than that make sure all the wires are connected in correctly. and if ya want, just try the header install its a lot easier and a lil more securer

Thanks for your advice, No thx to XCronus. I'm going to try to fix my d0 right now. I tryed to do the pin header for over an hour, i just couldnt get that solder to come out and was really tired of trying.

Is there an easier way to get the solder to come out? I tryed heating it up and pulling it out with some other solder like the tutorial told me to do, but it just kept adding more and more.

Abgx 1.05

I was just curious about a few dvds i have & ran one (far cry 2 ) thru abgx v.1.05
& everything came back Green Good right? Well upon further review it appears there are 2 SS versions for this game. Mine is SSV1- but the SS CRC & DMI CRC are for the SSv2 version. So why would everything Come back green in abgx? it's clearly not "Good to go"....

Re: Abgx 1.05

I also checked Wet & had the same results...heck some games the ss check out- but the dmi wasn't even in the list on the abgx site...completely different #'s so I'm starting to second guess ABGX 1.05

Re: Abgx 1.05

yeah I never got a cleae answer to my post, basically if abgx doesnt have it listed you gotta re rip it with 0800 and it wil automatically inject ssv2. Some of my games I just looked for mathching numbers in abg and if thay werent there I said screw it. I noticed most of the games with no numbers were region free not sure if that has anything to do with it. I did read an interesting post I forget by who but he basically explained that the ss is a type of calibration check its not something that is physically there so its up to you wether or not you trust your ssv1 because the only diff between ss 1 and 2 is 2 has a higher tusted level than 1. I guess 2 is safe and 1 is a coin flip, depends how you got your rip I guess. all mine are originals I just dont care to rerip them, I used to hotswap before 0800 so I assume my 1s are cool, if not oh well.

The sad part is I compared these right off of the abgx verified page, Like I said mismatched data & every thing comes back Green....lol I think m$ owns abgx...j/k I really would like to get to the bottom of this..It's not on all of them but others slip thru ...

Re: Abgx 1.05

This must not be a FULL CRC is all I can figure. As to why completely different numbers (SS & DMI) come back green is just baffling......

Re: Abgx 1.05

Im no GURU with computers or programming, but I belive Abg only checks validity of the image, plus I think its really for people who dont trust their source at least thats how it wuz before ap25. Anyway, I think it just check for correct info not matching info if that makes any sense. Probably not but thats my guess. I posted some SS questions weeks Ago and basically from what I got was to re rip, Plus Ive never seenn a post from someone gettin zapped cause of the SS. ? Frustrating I know I wish I was a super nerd and had the answer.HA!
