so I ordered a x3 from modchipman with the lpc rebuild and went to cut it on only to find it was sent with the 3.0.0 bios and I can't move the controls on the screen. What do I do now? BTW praying hasn't made it better yet.

okay so can anyone just tell me so I can fix this sh*t; what is the wire I need to check that could be causing my controller (yes its stock) to be acting up and not moving when I'm in the x3 bios cuz I'm starting to think it might be the chip cuz this is the fourth time I've opened it up.

this prob is usually caused by using a 3rd party controller.
Make sure you are using a genuine micro$oft xbox controller. (just in case u misunderstood "stock")

Could it be a 1.6/1.6b flashbios 3.0.0 problem???
If you can get yr hands on a modded v1.0 - v1.5 xbox try flashing flashbios 3.03 to chip in that then swapping chip to your own. or just flashing X3_1959 in another box. (assuming yours is 1.6/1.6b)

Are there any memory cards or anything plugged into the controller? I've heard that can cause problems with flashbios......also maybe dvd dongels, I 'think' someone fixed a similar issue by unplugging the dvd dongel.

make sure that your controller is plugged in before you turn the xbox on. also try using another x-box / external programmer to upgrade to the latest bios. i had problems with a 1.6b and an X2.6 and simply re-flashed the chip using an external programmer to the latest flashbios and it worked.

Yes it is a xbox 1.6b and it does have the 3.0.0 bios on it but I live in chesterfield, va and I don't know anyone who has a modded xbox that would let me flash my bios. Why can't they just ship it with the updated bios I mean I asked for the 1.6 rebuild so didn't they get the clue? By the way where would I get an external programmer to flash the bios cuz I don't think there is one for the X3.

Well, I would just connect to it via http and update the bios that way.
When you boot it up, you should see the ip address and you should then be able to connect.

I have the same setup and was unable to connect via http until I booted to avalaunch from a CD-RW (verbatim worked at 10x write speed!). I would try that and see if your controller works in a dashboard and you can update your bios that way too. Also, my stock controller worked fine in config live on my 1.6 with 3.0.0

He aint going to be able to 'boot' anything with the flashbios never ming Avalaunch !
have you tried the dvd remote if you have one. I had the same problems as you and I flashed it with the dvd remote.
Other than that I dont know how you are going to flash it.
