i could be wrong but this doesnt seem to involve the nand-x pcb at all...its just the usb cable which apparently has a built in circuit board for converting the TXD signals etc ..

I understand 3 wires are used, but which cable/s is used and where is it connected to the nand x "box"...
Someone correct me if I am wrong. I have a USBPro V2, so I always use the first method, but this is how it seems this is done.

For com monitoring, you do not use a Nand-X. You either use a dvd drive power cable hooked up to "a CK3i or X360USBPro V2 or even a CK3 Pro RevD with the additional wire (same set up for upgrading Nand-x to ARM 3)" or you use the USB update cable (the one that is used to update the Nand-X) with the USB end plugged into your computer and the other end wired to the points on the motherboard.

already started a "manual" install without qsb...i could just solder 3 wires on the points and poke them into the usb extension cable correct? QSB will take a will to remove without damaging...

You can chop the end off of the cable and use the wires if you want, but installing the QSB will make things cleaner and much simpler.

I agree, the qsb is the easiest way to go about it. Plus its cleaner and you will get a better connection using it. Stop being cheap wizpanda. QSB cost about $9 usd but its well worth it.

cant just use network to get the key? may be the simpler way for now if you dont want to cut your cable,or wait for a qsb,but still continue on.
