for noobs the easiest is evox.
avalaunch, unleashx and xbmc are all great. some have things that others don't.
it just a matter ok taste. try them all and see which one you like best.

Download and run the Slayer's Evox Installer ... it will install Evox as your primary dash, but load up the others as applications, then you can launch them from Evox and try them out, and decide which one you like. The versions in Slayers are a little out of date (only a couple of months - so its nothing drastic), so if one is particularly interesting to you, it would be worthwhile grabbing the latest version and installing that.

If you want to impress your friends with video previews and cool looking skins I'd go for UnleashX, if you don't care about that kinda bling and only want a dashboard that will let you launch apps and games then Evox is probably more like your thing.

But as already said..try em all, they are all free and pretty easy to setup, and in anycase, it will serve as a good practice :)

Personally id reccomend XBMC, its very versatile, iive only really used evox apart from that tho.

i like (and use) unleashx, it has cool stuff like video skins, game saves manager, downloadable items like skins and game saves (i beat halo2 in legendary!!!!), and an updater

on the other side, avalaunch has an irc client, a telnet client, and other cool stuff like boost mode used with qwix on your pc

and if you like the look and feel of the original ms-dash (the green one) you could try UIX, its built based on it

Thanks for your suggestions, I'm gonna go with Slayer's Evox Installer for now and try the other dashboards after. What's the latest version of Evox or slayers installer?

sho' enuff...

Dashboards aren't xbox version specific.

In fact, I think only config magic and BIOS's are version specific.
