ANSWERED Recovering bricked hitachi 79

ComP froze during write ....was using ck3i with via card...now i have a usbpro...

I thought jf1.91 saved dump during erase and write,but cant seem to find it or open the only file it did save...

But i do have the 30 (dont know how may keys) digit key to the drive....i have recieved 2 new stock pcb boards for hitachi....2 in case i screw up again

What i want to know is .....after i install the board in drive and read it with the new usbpro....can i just enter the 30 (or whatever number it is) digit key in the "source" box and spoof to target and rewrite?

Seems to simple....if this is wrong please point me inthe right dirrection, thank you all

Do everything via the Hitachi Tab

Click on Flash LT and let it patch your Hitachi PCB. Then click manual spoof and enter your 32 character DVD key. That's about it.

You should be replacing like for like too, so a v79 to replace a v79.

Ok...the ebay guy couldnt tell me what version the boards were....just hoping one of them is v79....if not ....then illl have to find a 79instead....no way to use these boards if there arent 79's ?

You might be able to just use it in place of a v79 but it might not work.

ok i compared pcb boards and looked the same...continued on with manual spoof and lt firmware.....write and verified ok !...

have to take the boy to hockey...i will report back in a bit with the console test, thanks all, hope it went well =)

ok....now that that is done....the dash is really old...like the original in 2006....

any problems with upgading it to the latest dash?

i know that the hitachis are imune to ap25 ....im really not to sure what to do with it next....

go back to stock then upgrade latest dash....then put lt2.0 back on? i didnt see lt 3.0 for hitachis ...

or am i completley wrong?

what would you do with this really clean but old xbox? thanks all =)

If it's a Hitachi 79, wait for LT+ 3.0 firmware.

With regards to the dashboard update, go back to stock firmware first.

yes....go back to stock....update dash...then reflash to lt 2.0.....but it wont play xgd3 discs ? correct?

thanks blakey for stickin in there with me, i really appreciate it...=)

maybe this box would be good for jtagging? ill have to read up more about it...but what is the main reason for one to jtag?

It is not recommended to play XGD3 or AP2.5 games on LT+ 2.0 hence why I suggested waiting a while for LT+ 3.0.

LT+ 3.0 has support for topology-patched discs (AP2.5 and XGD3) which is now the standard for backup discs.

ok blakey i will wait on the hitachi for lt 3.0 (its for his friend)

but......stupid me weve already been playing skyrim backup on our liteon lt2.0 for a while.....i guess its silent flagged....none the less .....none of these xboxes go online...i have another liteon xbox that is stock if the boy ever goes online and he can use his original game disc for that. thank you again =)
