Red and Orange Flashing error lights

could somebody please give me some advice on whats wrong, Got a crystal 1.6 xbox from my m8 and a X2.6 mod chip to fit in it, ( did not test it first silly me) fitted chip the programmed it, then when i went to test it, it would not work, so i then tried switching the X2.6 off and tried again(withX2.6ce still off) the green lights come on as it tried to start 2 then it just flashed Red & Amber, so i opened it up again and checked all connections and also for splashes and broken tracks, all looks ok, so i tried again with the same thing happening, so i then carefully removed the mod install completely, so the xbox was now back to it's orginal state, But it still tries to start up twice (flashing green) then it flashes RED and AMBER(orange or yellow what ever the colour is) any ideas???? what bios did you flash it with? make sure its the right one for your version xbox and chip.

check for solder splash or broken traces around the lpc

i flashed it xxxxxx2.6 with 5032 and the one for the 1.6 xbox, but ive have removedthe complete install icluding the pin header and the lpc points, ive now spent hour metering out traces all seems ok, any ideas where now to look??? Bob

so even with every thing out and i can on see any broken traces i still get the same thing, do you thing that it i fill the all the pin header holes with solder, where this could cure the problem

As you know, the BIOS you flashed to the chip is irrelevant.

Do what MKChampion says, you need to check and check again the LPC area where you fitted the chip. Something has been damaged, or there are bridges on the motherboard that you need to remove - either on top, or underneith where your LPC rebuild will be.

does anybody have a circiut diagram of the lpc area for a 1.6 motherboard so then i can see what each hole goes too or should be connected to, this might help, also what if i fill all the lpc holes with solder do you think that this might help, many thanx for all your replys Bob

You can get guides etc on the homepage of this site (at the right hand side). Maybe not entirely what you're looking for though?

As for filling the holes with solder - I doubt this would make any difference - then again, you have nothing to lose!

Orange/Red Flashing

check pin 5 on your lpc port for a broken trace if you find one fix it by bridging the break with a wire. You will notice small circular traces where a 30 AWG wire can be inserted find the nearest one towards the beginning of the trace and the end and put a wire and (bridge) them.

please tell me what the red and orange flashing light means box will try to boot up three times then goes to the flashing lights please help
