I've heard of this before but I don't remember the thread. I know it's caused by poor wire arrangement/interference, but I don't remember which wire in particular. It may have been CPU_RST but don't quote me on that... In any case the console will work fine, it will just show a red light as if it has an error. It's really just an aesthetics thing, but does indicate that there's wire interference, so it's your call if you want to fix it or not

EDIT: Maybe I was wrong, here's another thread you'll want to take a look at

I had exactly the same problem. And a there are a few threads about it, listen to the fans when trying to boot demon nand you will here them making a fluttering sound and the coolrunner may not be glitching. The easy way is to switch the coolrunner to phat and this will cure the problem but it may ruin your boot times. Sme have had success with un bridging the c15 cap but this did not work for me. It is said to be down to the cpu_reset wire position so this is the next step for me. A the moment mine works great with it set to phat but my glitch time are between instant and around 40 seconds so am gonna try moving the wire.

Thx Guys Switched to Phat and Problem goes away.. Sucks though .. I had instant boot times... but now it's 10sec-40sec..... Is this a Problem in some Demons or All Demons?

Just to let you know I finally got round to taking mine apart to reroute the cpu reset wire, it is 44cm long which seems best and I have gone around the whole xclamp. I can set the coolrunner to slim and it glitches either 1st or second cycle now and I get none of the red dot anymore so all is good...!!!!

Man I can't not get rid of the Red Dot on this ROL... I've switch to a CR3lite Red Dot still there... I've Moved , even Cut the RST.. still There .. I've shorted the LK3(C15) and left it open... Still There..

I'm Kinda Thinking TX needs to Step up here and admit this is a Demon Problem.. I've installed about 20 *******s and 10 Squirt DN and Never had a Red Dot..

I Understand the Console seems fine but the Sync doesn't Work.. More of a Hassle

Have you tried moving the switch from "Slim" to "Fat" as suggested previously? This should fix your issue.

I've seen this red dot issue with both nandwich and the squirt FYI.

The issue isn't with the Demon... it's with the Coolrunner. The 100% solution to fix this issue would be to wire a relay to CR_EN of the Demon to the power of the Coolrunner, such that when the stock nand is selected the CR powers off. Or, you could possible use a NPN transistor.

You can test this by putting the Coolrunner in programming mode with the stock NAND selected. It should boot without giving a red dot.

Well sh*t, that's strange... I've seen quite a few of these red dot issues... when wire positioning doesn't fix the issue, switching from Slim to Fat does... and if that doesn't work, or rather, if the boot times are just too long with it set to Fat, since it pretty much always fixes the issue, having the CR off with stock NAND has always done the trick for me.

Now then... is there a reason you have S4 dipswitch 6 on? Also, can't tell from your pic, but is LK3 bridged? I'd also try unbridging LK4.

When I had it on Phat it was so random on the Boot times.. I was opening and shorting all the LK's but LK1

I have now switched back to another CRvC different from the First... and now get better Boot times, and seems to not have the Red Dot now.. Wow what a Mess..
