ANSWERED Red Dot Sometimes...

Ok Here we go again... Settled a few differences with Martin via Private Message.

I noticed that when I try to glitch the xbox on Demon(Blue Light) it is seeming to time out and give me a red dot sometimes...Not always..

After a few times of testing both Nands on the xbox it works fine on the retail side... Althought before it would show a red dot a few times but still load the stock nand.

I am using a Coolrunner Rev A on a trinity motherboard.

What can it be?? It works well... i Would say 70% percent of the time..

Have you removed the C15 capacitor from your CoolRunner?

No sir I have not.. I thought(maybe wrong) that it was needed for RGH2 for Phat Xboxes...

Your soldering looks fine from what I can see.

Remove that capacitor and see if the issue remains - slim consoles and phat RGH2 consoles do not need/use it.

I also noticed that a few times maybe like 3-4 in a row it times out showing the red dot on the demon and then it works... I am stumped..

Would that also explain the red dot after 30 seconds on the Demon Nand??? and not loading?....Remember only sometimes does that happen.

Read my post in that thread and then think about why I suggested removing C15 .

I just removed the cap and the demon nand has glitched 3 times in a row...I will continue testing it...So far so good.... Boot times are good.. not instant but as long as it glitches under 30 I am happy...I will cross my fingers..

Update... After 30 seconds it still goes to red.. but it does glitch when i reset it.

As of now the resistor is lifted per your instructions.. I didnt have the external hard drive connected and it was booting well.

After I connected the hard drive it takes a little longer to boot.

It still shows the red dot sometimes on the DEMON side.. but a few times not consistent which is good i guess.

Any other suggestions to get this working 100%?

I'm not 100% certain, but I think CPU_RST can play a part in "random" red dot issues.

If the console boots and plays fine, I'd leave it as it is because if you go playing around with the CPU_RST wire, you will probably damage something.

THanks.. I am just a little anal about these things...

Before it would boot the demon to red dot right away.. but come back to nornal after resetting a couple of times.. Thats all.

I also have post out QSB on the xbox as well with the blue wire and not the shielded black wire coax..
