Red & Green Flashing light around eject button

Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone can help me out.

I installed my 2.6CE with solderless Xapter. Install went fine, and I was able to burn the bios.bin (sent to me from a friend) and the dummy.bin to a CD, then install them via "Install from disc" successfully. I know this because it loaded it properly, displaying the big green bar, and then it turned my Xbox off.

When I turn the Xbox back on, with the "chip enabled" switch set to "on", I no longer get the FlashBios screen. Instead, I now get a red & green flashing light around the eject button.

Is this due to an incorrect bios? If so, since I now cannot get to the FlashBios main screen, how do I re-install a different bios.bin file?

Help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Joe

Does this happen when the chip is set to boot from both banks?

Have you any idea what BIOS you actually flashed to your Xbox or what size it was? If you were able to flash the BIOS originally, and your Xbox hasn't been knocked around, then I would assume all the connections are still ok, and you flashed the wrong BIOS.

If you can't boot from either bank, and all the chip connections are fine, then maybe the best thing to do is buy a programmer for the chip.

Yeah, we opened the XBOX up again and the chip and Xapter are installed properly. I do not know the name of the bios.bin file I installed.

Is there anyway of getting back to the FlashBios main screen, where I can install a new bios, or it doesn't work that way?

Thanks for rpelying, I appreciate the help...

If you don't know what you flashed, then you're pretty much f*cked - sorry, but if your chip will boot from neither bank 1 or 2, then there isn't really too much else to do except buy a programmer or a new chip.

If neither bank boots, you must have flashed the wrong BIOS to both banks. If the original FlashBIOS has been overwritten on both banks, it can't be restored (unless you do it with a programmer).

OK, thanks. If I get a new chip, which bios should I have? I don't want to install the wrong bios again?

Thanks,
Joe

Also, I spoke to Console Source, who recommended "re-flashing" the chip. How is this done? Via programmer?

Thanks,

You need to get the X2 5035 BIOS - read up on Xbins. There are 2 versions of the BIOS, 1 for the 1.6/1.6b versions, and 1 for the older Xboxs (1.0-1.5). Then, you'll need to make a BIOS cd - guides available on the homepage of this site.

You could re-flash the chip using a programmer though.

I had similar problem. Exact same install, I used EvoxM7.bin to flash. Now when I boot from bank 1 I get the green to red eject botton. When I boot fomr bank 2 I get an orange eject botton? Is this a re-flash using a programmer also?
