Red & Green flashing?

OK, installed a 2.6 CE and Xapter solderless thingy yesterday, reconnected everything, flashed the chip via HTTP and now it doesn't work. If disabled, the MS part works as usual, but if I enable the modchip, and reboot, it reboots a couple of times in quick succession, then just sits there flashing the led red and green. Disc tray wont open or anything until I disable the modchip and reboot.

Any ideas / helpful suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Version 1.3 XBOX, and the bios was X3 3294. I'm beginning to see a problem here.
Do'h!

I know you know the answer already but... you done f-ed it up pal. You're gonna have to find another x 2.6 and do the ole' chip swap.

Good luck!

- What the hell is a "chip swap" ?
- Why don't they come with clear, concise instructions for fitting instead of having to search forums - just because I've got an XBOX it doesn't make me an electronics engineer!
- ditto for flashing the bios - I now realise i've flashed the wrong version to the chip but instead of all that pissing about with mIRC, etc, I simply downloaded the bios file direct from eMule.
- Can the chip not be re-programmed / wiped or something? Or shall I just bin it? I don't want to fork out ANOTHER twenty-odd quid.

Oh well, live & learn.

A "Chip swap" is more commonly known as a Hot Swap. You boot off a good chip and open FlashX and get it ready to flash. Then you take the good chip out and put the hosed chip in and flash it. This is all done with the power on hense the name. I've done this a few times it's real easy.

Your other option is to purchase a programmer.

You should have just purchased the X3.

Right, Cheers everyone.

I don't know anyone with a modded XBOX, let alone another 2.6 CE,....so I guess I'll have to purchase a programmer.

The reason you "piss around with mIRC" is because that way you know exactly what you are getting. Downloading it from P2P doesn't mean you are actually getting what the file says.

I really don't see how the directions could be any more clear. There is a file in the X3 zip that says it will not work on an X2. The latest version number for both the X2 and X3 chips are listed on Team Xectuer's homepage. This tutorial tells you exactly how to flash a chip. All it takes it half an hour of reading, and you wouldn't have any problems.
