Did you install the JTAG part also? To boot xell, you will need this. If you did do it, either it is caused by some kind of bad soldering or you did not switch the jtag part on! (Or connect the plugs...). Also, im pretty sure, that xell does not show in HDMI. Use a normal AV cable. Your HDMI might not work at all if you used the standard soldering points.

Yes, you write Xell to the NAND with the nand part of this. Therefor it has noothing to do with your JTAG qsb. Do you have a multimeter to test your soldering? Or could you post some hogh resolution pics of it?

the fact that xell installed is irrelevant. if the solderings poor then youll get an e79 when booting xell. try an av cable instead and check what error code is on screen when booting xell. 100% xell doesnt boot to hdmi.

But Check if your switch is on! It is the J2D2 qsb you should be looking at. There is a black switch, that can be set to:

Switch 0 = No Resistor
Switch 330/470 - Jumper 330 = Set Resistor level to 330
Switch 330/470 - Jumper 470 = Set Resistor level to 470
Switch OFF = Disable JTAG Completely
You will get E79 if the switch is set to off even if your soldering is perfect. Try the other settings.

Again, check the switch. Didn't you read #6? If no, read it. If yes, try it :D
Im sorry, but i dont know that much about the Hdmi issues, as my Jasper wasn't exploitable . Im sure flashing knows more about this?

Sounds like the soldering is bad, then. I bought a cheap multimeter back when i had the same problem. Im glad i did. Makes life easier.

EDIT:Tottaly forgot to ask you something:
Surely, you are booting by pressing the eject button, right? That is the way Xell boots.
If you are pressing the normal power button or using the controllers, this might be the problem.

If you decide to follow flashing360 advice and go for the Alt point tutorial I have already prepared and uploaded ready xell & smc files ready for use by JTAG Tools or other tools.

I have PM'ed Azeem with the link so he would update his tutorial so people can download these ready files, however if you decide you want them before then just PM and I'll send you the link in a PM.

Well, you should read the tutorials properly anyways. Now we can be as good as certain, that the soldering is the problem. But if this wasn't the problem, both the switch and the choice of powerbutton would be causing this. You might wanna check it out again. Perhaps i forgot something.

how about that picture that you said you were going to post
I'll second that. Pictures of the soldering are necessary in order to find out the exact reason why you're this problem.
