I'm not normally one to ask for help, but this has me stummped.

I installed the slim QSB and coolrunner, read the nand which was all good, then programmed the coolrunner. Yes it was in program before i did it. I then wrote the ECC, still good.
Now when I boot, i dont get a green flashing light in the coolrunner, and no glitching or xell screen.
So now I re-wrote the dump to the nand and it boots to M$ dash fine.

Now I'm assuming the qsb is installed correctly to get multiple good nand dumps. And the coolrunner is easier to solder than that. SO Is there something im missing here? This is my first RGH and have read all i can and now im lost as to what to try next.

Unfortunately I dont have a camera capable of taking good enough pics for you guys so its just advice im after.

Thanks ppl

Long Blue wire, coiled just like in the pics. I havent cut it down yet as thats to fix booting times, and this one isn't glitching at all.

Thanks superspeed, That was more like an answer I was expecting. Sorry about the lack of pics. CPU-rst is the blue wire right?

I will take a closer look at this, and if still no joy I will borrow a camera of someone and post some pics....O-oh.

Since you're using a QSB, I suggest taking a closer look at the STBY_CLK. Use a multimeter to make sure the pads are actually bridged. I doubt the CPU wire is the cause in this case.
This could very well be the cause as well. Try both and post results.

Edit: BTW the length of the blue wire only effects the boot timing.

untill I get a multimeter tommorrow, if the trace was damaged on the main boards stby_clk then would my console still boot normally like it does?

Also when I get the meter, I wouldnt know where to start. Any advice would be great. Not looking to be spoonfed, rather nudged in the right direction.

Thanks again for all your time guys, I know how frustrating this is. I'm always on Irc at update time pmsl.

If the trace was damaged the console would not boot at all.

Check connection on your wires and make sure you're making solid solid contact with the proper pads and nothing else.

Had this happen on a couple of consoles. Generally (from my experience) it was the solder point beside the HANA chip.

Go back through and cut the wires down, use a good amount of flux, pre-tin the pads, and give it another go.

I'd say it's probably just a silly soldering problem, nothing more.

Right, now i got this slim trying to glitch as far as the coolrunner green light glitch cycle,

BUT

After leaving for a few minutes It RDOD so i removed power cable. Tried again a few minutes later and nothing. Not powering up and no Red dot either. But there is standby power going to the board as the coolrunner's red light is on.

Later on this evening I shall remove the QSB and all other solder points and see how this affects things, in the mean time is there a known cause for this. Something specific to look out for?

Thanks
