Newly installed X3 chip.
The X on the front panel is always red.
both blue lights are lit on the chip itslef.

I am having the exact same problem. The LED on the front switch panel of the X3 glows red for two seconds, the internal fan switches on, and then the power switches off only to turn on again, repeat the previously stated actions and then repeat this process again before staying on, black screen with the HD not spinning. This is the freaky part. When I press the eject button for the DVD-ROM, the HD spins up. :roll:
So... here are my stats and then you can tell me what a stupid newbie I am.

:arrow: MOD:Xecuter3
:arrow: Preflashed Chip: DNK - Will not boot to that point
:arrow: Solder joints checked - 16 times to date
:arrow: 250GB Hitachi Deskstar 7,200RPM - Unformatted, again because I cannot boot to that point
:arrow: Number of successful mods to date: 1 - but number 2 is killing me

Didn't come with one, man... guess it musta been an older chip set - got it from Canada, don't you know.

any clues on how to approach my little issue??

I may be wrong but you might have to re-fit the stock hard-drive until you get the chip going.. Also, if you did a pin head install you can use the wire from the wire install loom to re-build your LPC as you have no need for it anywhere else.

what firmware is the best right now i beielve i have ixtreme 1.o or 1.1 and i just wanna know what i need to reflash it

Depends on your drive, look at the latest firmware box.....right there -------------------------------------------------------------------->
on your screen.

First thing to do is find out what drive you have and then wait until new lt+ comes out

i have a friend that told me the same exact thing. not worth flashing it right now to wait for the the lt to come out. how long usually untill a new firmware comes out
