Reflash cromwell bios is it needed ??

Had an xbox, installed mod chip worked but wouldn't launch games but would dashboards apps etc ... fine.. figured it's a video chip thing..that xbox was version 1.6
Removed the modchip from there resoldered into another xbox which is version 1.6b, If I just throw in the hard drive from the other xbox along with the 2.6ce which was already flashed will this work? if not why? will I need to reflash the chip and start over?
If I need to reflash can I use my 3rd xbox that has a 2.3b ans swap chips after boot and reflash with cromwell? what version of cromwell will I need? thanks

ok, when I boot up with the chip enabled and the regular unmodded hard drive it just goes to the microsoft dashboard, when I swap in the harddrive that has been modded I get the japanese screen of death... any ideas? does the chip need reflashing or did I miss something with the 2.6ce install , but it seem like it's there, no fragging and leds are on

What exactly are you trying to accomplish here? Are you trying to get the chip to work in the original Xbox, or the 1.6b? What error code do you get when the error screen pops up? Do you get any lights on the chip? Have you tested the switches with a multimeter?
