reflashing bios with http

When I originally flashed my x3 with 1957 bios thru http the instruction came up in my web browser. When I updated the bios to 1959 the instructions were no longer there just the spot to browse for the new bios and a spot to choose the bank. Are you not suppose to reflash a bios thru http? My x3 got the new bios and seems to work fine. I just want to make sure this is an approved method of reflashing.

if it worked, then why ask? any method that works IMO is acceptable.

JF Crashing

Hey people..

Wondering if any one can help? im trying to flash a benq drive. Can get it into vendor mode but when i click read JF justs locks up. ive done loads of drives before and not had this problem. But i have just reformatted my pc. im using a via 6421 card ive uninstalled the drivers installed portio. It driving me mad just dont know whats wrong..
appricate any help

Make sure you've uninstalled all the VIA card drivers and use the newest JF 1.70(doesn't need portIO driver anymore). If that doesn't work, (if you have them) use your onboard ATA ports

also, disable any dvd drives you may have in your device manager

if i don't disable my HP 1260d drive, JF crashes when trying to read a drive

ill try disableing my dvd drive i have uninstalled my via driver but will give it another check.

ive tried what you both said and its still not working.. ive got a hitachi 79 drive here to and when i connect that its not even detected in JF. Anyone know whats wrong???

I had to unplug the sata cable to my pc's DVD drive for the Hitachi. Disabling it was not enough.
