when you flash a replacement pcb and lock it, it essentially becomes a locked slim drive, and will behave as one
therefore you run into the chipset incompatibilities caused by a locked spi
however, its easy to get around this
if you have a probe 3 try this (discovered by our friendly Admin BraveHeart43)
1. find what port your drive is on
2. power off the drive
3. send intro/device id to that port
4. press yes
5. hold down the button on the probe 3
6. power on the drive
7. release the button on the probe 3
that should get you into vendor mode
If you don't have a probe 3, you can force vendor mode by probing MPX01 with a ground (the "badflash" recovery method)
this can be any ground, you could just tie one end of a wire to your xbox metal casing and use the other end to probe
pictures and a description similar to below can be found in the jungleflasher tutorial
1. find what port your drive is on
2. power off the drive
3. send intro/device id to that port
4. press yes
5. probe MPX01 with the ground probe
6. power on the drive
that should get you to vendor mode and be able to unlock the spi and flash and relock the spi
unfortunately, with a semi-incompatible chipset, this will be necessary each time to put your locked drive into vendor mode
