Well, my thread title pretty much states what I need. Is it possible to just simply remove the additioanl GPU fan in a XBOX v1.0 without needing to change anythig and not having an overheating ?

I would not recommend removing any fans out of your box!!! I wouldnt cause any problems with the programs/software, but your box may get a little warmer than desired!! If anything I would ADD fans to the case!!!

Thx for the reply :)

Though, I would really like to remove that fan... Its really noisy given its so small. So, I heard that all Xbox models from 1.3& up have only one, the case fan. I would like to reduce my fan count aswell to 1.

Here are the temps (can't figure out how to measure my Gpu temp though):

Cpu 47.4 C° (after usage)
MB 35.0 C° (after usage)

I guess I could live without that noisy Gpu fan, though I'd rather not try something I'd regret later ;)

You could experiment with it, but I still dont recommend taking any fans out that are there!! If you want to take it out.....do it up, but just watch the temps closely!! If they go to high, then put that thing back in!!!

sure, I will. Though i really have NO idea on how to display the GPU temp in EvoX... Is it even possible? (mind you, GPU not CPU)

I dont believe there is, but you could rig something up?? If it is something that you already have...You could hook up a fan controller with the three temperature cables. Usually one is for your hard drive, one for CPU, and one for your case. That is for a computer of course, but you could put one of those next to the box to monitor it closely for a day or 2. If its not overly hot then you could just keep that fan out of there? I know thats not practical if you dont have a fan controller with temp outputs on it already, but its just an idea. Maybe if a friend has one they would let you use it?

Thx for the help so far, but I guess this is a bit to complicated... However, what would actually happen if the hardware overheats? I thought i read in the manual that the Xbox simply shuts down till its cool again ^^ If that would be it, I would just simply try to run it without the fan till it shuts down it self. If it does that, I just simply plug the fan back in :)
