Since it doesn't seem like a LT+2.0 is imminent for the older Hitachi 47DJ, I'm ready to replace it for something that will allow me to play Xgd3 Games.

Any suggestions for which drive I should replace, and can someone point me towards a good write-up on the Key backup/transfer to the new drive...

I'd kick down the $$$ as a donation instead to c4eva/Jungle Team if I thought it would help with a LT+2.0 release for it, but I don't know that it would.

I wouldn't advise it and it isn't supported. Your best option is to wait patiently for the LT 2.0 firmware to arrive :).
Supported by what/whom? My system was banned from XBL 4 or 5 years ago, so not worried about that.

It isn't supported with LT firmwares, your console will throw errors and updates will fail.
Poop...not what I wanted to hear, but thanks for the reply! Tempted to go shopping for a different/used 360 without a Hitachi drive...already been waiting a long time (compared to all the other DVD Drives).

I guess this is what I get for being impatient... been watching c4eva speaks site daily (hourly) for weeks... and then this pops up after I open my big piehole...

no errors here, im using a benq in replace of my 47 dj, the old spoof way does not work anymore, but if u manual spoof and just copy key etc DO NOT SPOOF AS ANOTHER DRIVE. and it will work perfectly, it is what i have done, keep your old drive tho, and flash it back to original FW, then for updates just swap drive over, simple :)
