Fix Xbox 360 Hitachi Disc Drive?
Hi, I was wondering the ways of fixing and or replacing a Hitachi disc drive for the Xbox 360. The drive is the Hitachi 59 drive, it works it reads and plays the discs however it can make grinding noises like its scratching the disc but there was no scratches on the discs, and it can be sluggish when you put a disc in, meaning it sometimes acts like its getting stuck and I have to physically touch the disc and spin it in order for the drive to start spinning. I was thinking of swapping the Hitachi with another Hitachi. If I do swap them besides matching the drive key can I just switch the circuit boards in the drives? Is there ways of fixing the drive or do I have to replace it? Also does the replacement drive have to be the same version (ex. Swap Hitachi 59 with another Hitachi 59, or can it be Swap hitachi 59 for a hitachi 46,78,etc. )Thanks!
