Replaced the board...no eject :(

Guys

I've been searching for help on this for a while. I have tried everything I can think of.

Here are the facts.

1. Bought replacement blank TX pcb for my DG-16D4S (its a version 1.0 with the wp# switch actually on the board)

2. Flashed firmware onto it and my Key following jf tuts. Outro'd it twice, came up as expected, recognised that it knows this device etc so write worked. switched over my wp# switch to 0

3. Soldered all the BRYGW cables directly onto the board.

4. Try it...no eject. Try it in the CK3lite ...no eject.

I've since re-flashed, checked all connections, can't seem to get it working.

I THEN de-soldered and resoldered the R and B cables on the motor back to the OLD original board, plugged her into the ck3 and voila, motor fires up.

Put them back to the TX board....nothing.

I've read that i definately need firmware on the board and it comes empty etc so to make sure I try flashing again. I even tried stock and nothing.

All of the solders are fine i've removed and re-added. And the motor fires up on the old board...which makes me think I must be missing something on the new board.

Sorry for the essay...any ideas guys?

Your jf log and pics of your soldering are a must. Absolutely nothing we can suggest without actually seeing what you've done.

There is a chance of a defective unit, but what you think is good soldering and flashing skills may not be actual skill or it may be, get the images Martin asked for, then we'll see whats going on.

It does sound like a defective unit from what your saying, only your images will tell.

Ha ha, I'll snap some pics when i'm back from work. Hey i'd be happy if you see problems with my work rather than having to replace to unit.

Hope you can contain yourself until later ... ;)

Right then guys pics attached.

bear in mind all of the connections were soldered on initially but I have removed all but two (for the drive motor) for testing. I also removed the drive motor as I at first thought it was that.

In this configuration using the original board, pressing the eject on the ck3 spins the motor. when using the white TX board...nothing.

The TX board has stock FW and my key on it.

Any help or advice is much appreciated.

Okay here is my jf log with my key element modified.

Bear in mind this is a re-flash so that is why it already has the key on the TX board when I load jf.

Let me know if you guys can see anything.

Thanks

That log isnt writing your OFW to the board thats writing LT3.0
Yes I'm aware of that. This is just a re-flash to log what happens and for ease I just let jf auto fill the target firmware to LT+3.0 this time.

Makes no difference to my eject issue does it?

Everything else works just the eject does not which is obviously an issue. The eject motor works fine on the old (original) board.

I think the IC which is right next to the solder points is possibly at fault. This controls motor actions like tray open/close etc.

If it all looks soldered properly then it's likely to be defective.
