replacement drive

Hi All,
Is it easy to change my really really noisy Hitachi drive with a samsung drive? And if so where would i get one from?

Yes, it is easy to change. I dont know that you'll notice much of a noise difference. You can buy them anywhere you can find them - ebay, online shops, etc... Just make sure it is a reputable seller and not a lower version than a ms21.

Assuming you have your original.bin firmware of your hitachi, simply use samtool found in the downloads section. It will prep samsung firmware to responds as your hitachi drive and all you do is flashed the hacked.bin that is patched after running the program.

Read the readme.txt in the package. All you do, is download the xtreme 5.2 package. Pick which verison you want (a,b,c,d), put that in a directory with samtool.exe, orig.bin (your hitachi original firmware), and xtreme52.bin.

Then type: samtool orig.bin xtreme52.bin

Then follow the tutorial on how to flash your the version of samsung that you get. You dont need to make a backup of the original samsung firmware, just flash it.

i just tryed to put my hitachtiv78 key to xtereme5.2 but when i checked it with toolbox 3.0 the key whas wrong so whats up with that
