Hey guys, so a while ago my benq dvd drive stopped reading discs. I kinda stopped using my xbox for a while when it happened but now want to get back on it and have bought a replacement benq drive.

I was just hoping you guys could help me out with the steps on how to do this? (i've flashed my drive a few times and my friends so i know how to do that)

So my broken drive is currently on LT+1.0. This is how i see what i've got to do:

1. Flash my current drive back to original firmware.

2. Update my xbox dashboard via xbox live.

3. Flash my new dvd drive with LT2.0 using my old drives original firmware as source.

Part three is where I don't really have a clue and i'm just guessing, if you guys could advise me on if i've got the right idea with the steps and how to go about it that would be really appreciated.

Thanks!

Ok i'm glad i've got it right but i'm still very confused as to how to do it all.

I can't seem to find a tutorial for flashing back to stock and its been so long since ive flashed i dont want to mess it up, as i dont remember exactly what im doing.

Also i cant remember where i used to download the jungleflasher firmware pack or LT firmwares from...

If you could just point me in the right direction of suitable tutorials or something that would be great, i'm feeling very overwhelmed atm :(

Thankyou very much mate, all seems alot clearer now just from that, was getting myself all a bit agitated! lol

So i will flash my broken drive back to stock, then update the dashboard through xbox live.

Then when flashing my new benq drive all i have to do is load the old drives original firmware instead of reading the new drives, then select LT+2.0 and flash?

yes if u load ur new drives firmware then the key will be blank so u will have to load the old drives dummy.bin file and continue flashing.

u can also update via usb if u have one.

One final question, i have the original stock firmware from my old benq drive, when wanting to flash back to stock rather than selecting the one in the download pack you gave me (theres 8 differant ones in the pre-13141 folder, im not sure which i use) could i not just read its current firmware, then choose that original stock firmware as target and flash?

Ok im having trouble and its probably something stupid but im at my wits end. I have an xbox with a bad benq. I read in the bad benqs stock fw and i am trying to replace it with another one and keep it stock. And it is not working. Im loading the original fw of the bad drive in source and the ofw of the good drive in target. Am i doing something wrong? Im going crazy, any help would be awesome.
