Hello,

I had to bury my first 360 after she had served me well for these past times. She had sickness called error 0102 :( but now I bougth brand new console to entertain me more... Old one has hacked TS dvd-drive and new has (of course) non-hacked Hitachi. Would it be simple that I just replace Hitachi with TS drive? Or do I have to flash Hitachi too?

Motherboards and DVD drives are tied together with unique keys in the 360, you can't simply swap parts but you can patch your TS drive to report as a Hitachi and use the unique key from the Hitachi and it should work fine. Here's the tutorial:

You would need to at least dump the firmware from your Hitachi drive in order to swap the drives, so if you're going to go through the trouble of getting the original firmware, you might as well just flash the Hitachi drive instead of doing the swap.

(flashing your new drive would be easier than swapping in the old one)

Thank you for quick response! Just like I thought, maybe I just keep old dvd-drive as spare part in case new one stops working. BTW, I havent found any permanent way to repair this error 0102. Is that correct?
