I had an old hdd in my xbox with all of my games backed up on it and wanted to upgrade to another drive. I used FTP with my PC as the middle man and copied all of the game folders off of the old hard disk and onto my new one. Unfortunately only about 50% of my games now work. Some load fine while others give me the 'dirty disc' error. Still others don't load anything at all. I really don't want to copy all of these games (30+) from their original discs again, but i would also like to use this new hard disk - any tips>?

has anything else changed?

if the old hard disk was locked, is the new one locked?
is your new hard disk rebuilt with applications and dashboards and settings exactly the same as your old one?

It would have proably been quicker to reload all the games from discs rather than ftp them to your pc and back.

As far as i know everything else is the same, i'll double check the locked/unlocked aspect. It was definitely easier to FTP though, i could just start the transfer of the files and leave, no waiting and swapping discs.

But if anyone else has any ideas, let me know....

i got this prob aswell, think its the fault of the either xbox or the dash, more than likely the xbox itself, it seems to happen only when your copying from the xbox. i dont think theres anything you can do about it im afraid except copy again if you still have the drive intact

Did you use pxHDDLoader to copy any of those games? I have had problems with it copying games and missing some files and it doesn't tell you. DVD2xbox is much better.
