The loading takes atleast a FULL 4 minutes, before my entire list of 522 XCI is loaded up and i can sensible make any sort of selection.
This is way to long to just try out games or find out what you want to play when you dont have any particular game in mind.
It's not so bad if you know which game you want to play but. Still annoying.

This can be sort of fixed by using FTP and moving out many XCI and loading up the ones you want but still the problem persist if you just want to scroll through your games, looking for the next game that is fun to do.

A harddisk file explorer would be nice. Where you could launch/mount the XCI directly from.
Or atleast the function where you can move XCI files... but tbh that probably would still be problemetic from the switch side. as selecting files from 522 files on a console like the switch is horrid. PC would get the job done 1000x faster.

But the thing is I don't want to use a PC. When im on the move or whatever.
I want a pure handheld experience.

And the slow loading is severly crippling that.

And no before you say " move only games in you want to play"
Is not my philosphy.
I want to play games knowing what I have, what is available.
Try out games. Switch. Plug and play experience.

It's not called a switch for nothing xD

6.2 is already on it's way. So as good as done. This function is most important In my opinion at this moment.
For a long time. I do not see that sx os will have a new version to solve it. The most important thing is now. The team can release a new version of the OS. It works on 6.2 before the better.

probably the only way i can see this addressed is bypassing scanning all together on startup. after removal or adding or moving of files you would have to do a manual scan.

How do you mean? Like scan once and when you exit the menu you don't have to rescan but it remembers it or? Like it keeps a snapshot or library or?

it would not scan on bootup whatsoever, remembering your last scan results and displaying what was there then. and if ya added or removed or moved locations of anything you would have to do a manual scan to make the database right again.

The sentence is not perfect english, but you can understand what is being said. English is not everyones native language. Learn how to punctuate and write a proper sentence before commenting on others english.

Currently SX scans everytime you open the menu. The only way around that would be like nofeloniesyet said, to have it cache the last scan and only check for adds or removals.

I agree. Could be pretty cool to have a tx custom file manager and if there is more than X amount of XCI then you are maybe forced to use it for example rather than your system locking up

Ahh Well only a "First scan" thus. Then remember afterwards. Ok ok.
Yes this should be a GREAT improvement to make my switch life complete.

Keeps my finger crossed. Massive switch gamer here.

Oh hey look we have another one of you who hates. I can feel your salt yummy.
Feel or taste? Another one of you? Hate ? What are you trying to talk about? Asking for a 'function' for managing the inevitable mess 'you' created.

Maybe I get banned for not being polite but you are kinda rude and ignorant talking down on someone's language.

Talking down someone's language what are you talking about?

Inevitable mess? Enough people use it like I do. And in fact larger HDD support suggest use of larger libraries.
Never mind. no waste energy on people like you.

What might also be a nice feature is a way to slide faster through your game list. with one of the L/R or trigger buttons perhaps.
So you can skip an entire letter entirely like A. B. C or whatever. Or just super speed scroll like 25 items at once increasing speed to 50 at once etc. the longer you keep button pressed.

Something like that can make finding your game tons easier.

Hope this is something that can be done for SX OS 2.5
