no it's not like downgrading or something

if mean by jtag to be able to boot freeboot for example so you have to wait until it's supported

I still don't understand.
What does this method do? The whole JTAG hack or just the first step for "unlocking" the new drives? (jasper, slim)

it's a new hack not jtag not SMC it's just new one and can only run xell that can run emus and linux based os till now

This has nothing to do with dvd drives so stop asking!! Fortunately, one of the benefits of running xell and gaining the CPU key is you can also get the dvd key if you have managed to lose it while trying to flash a drive.

C'mon Corey that's just semantics.

The scene end-users understand what is meant by "JTAG Hack". Much like when people used to call sh*t a "TSOP" hack - when that had f**k all to do with the package design of an IC - but people understood what was meant by the terminology.

Did someone let you out of the "I'm anal and I need help" classes today ? lol

Thanks oobergeek. I wish it was just semantics, read all the "end-user" posts between now and your post... thay all still think even after using a CPLD to do the glitching you will need to use some JTAG hack above this one.

And truth be told, the JTAG hack actually did use the smc to deliver a JTAG signal to the GPU every boot, JTAG was involved every single (successful) boot so calling it "JTAG hack" was fair game - trying to call this glitch the same thing is/was just confusing people.

Okay, so this hack lets you get the CPU key and run xell which also gives access to the dvd key. What does it have to do with JTAG?

quick question , why a falcon that as hdmi port on it would not be compatible with this hack ?

like Xecuter said in the first post : yes....running unsigned code on Slim consoles and all dashboard versions on HDMI PHAT consoles !!!)
