You can use the LPT cable, no problem here. You do need however an external 3.3 power source to power the coolrunner, and set it to PRG. Or you can just have the Coolrunner already soldered to the motherboard and program it using the LPT cable. In this case you need to get the switch into the NOR position

ok so i got the cable went to program the coolrunner but i get another error incompatable ARM firmware, ive searched the error I understand you must update the nand x, is there anyother way of me doing this without spending any more money?

How long have you had your NAND X? I was getting the incompatible error last night even though mine had v3. I unplugged it, restarted the PC, plugged it in and did a reset on the NAND X. Give that a try......unless you definitely don't have V3 code on it that is. Apparently you can update it with the X360USB PRO.

less than a month, by reset the nand x do you mean that little button you need a pin to press?

No the box don't say anything like version number on it anywhere. Just tried reset pc, reset nandx still same error

Looks like it needs updating then bro. Having never done it I can only advise you to do a search, pretty sure you need a cable though.
