resets when turned on..

Forgive me as I am new. I bought an xbox with a mod chip, it worked fine. Now it will only play DVD's (sometimes) and won't play my xbox games (that are burned onto a dvd-before it worked fine).
I turn the xbox on...and then it seems to 'reset' itself to the xecuter screen.
Any help on getting back to the 'main' menu?

if you got a x3 running x3 bios then go in to config and disable boot to x3config option
